| Codecs have been a problem for most users at one time or another. This is because it has never been out of the box working solution that the average computer user could install and just have everything work properly from the beginning. I was always in need tweak, adjustment, or even a re-installation just to get the codecs I needed / wanted and most of the time, the correct file to play. Ive never claimed to be a media guru. Review: Vista Codec Package is a comprehensive package of codecs that come with all the audio and video filters which you never need to open any media file. The codecs included in the collection range from ffdshow, LAV AC3Filter and the most advanced Haali, Gabest splitter or PDVD11 and filters. Basically, it boils down to install the package. After you start the installation, the program asks the installation you choose between full deployment or custom. This is recommended if you want to manually select the components to install on your system. The rest of the process is completed within a few seconds and it will lead to a dialog that lets you configure individual settings the whole package of codecs. From here, you can change the behavior of the various codecs, even though the factory default settings should work fine. However, in case you want to undo your changes, you can use the Reset All button. The best thing about the codec pack is that it has amazing efficiency and accompanied by a powerful media player, can do wonders for multimedia content.
